Watch: Plastic Free Back to School

The Plastic Pollution Coalition hosted a webinar to show you that it's possible to avoid a school year filled with toxic plastic. During their webinar, we learned why reusable, refillable, non-plastic school supplies like stainless steel lunch boxes and food storage containers are better for student health, the planet, and wallets - and how to incorporate them into the school year. They also discussed how schools can incorporate reusable, plastic-free items and practices into their operations.

Coalition Member Spotlight

Milwaukee Riverkeeper

Milwaukee Riverkeeper is a science-based advocacy organization working for swimmable, fishable rivers throughout the Milwaukee River Basin. They protect our rivers by monitoring for water quality, road salt, emerging contaminants, and mussels. They restore our rivers through the Adopt-a-River program and annual Spring Cleanup every Earth Day. They advocate for our rivers with programs like the River Defenders and Senior Water Advocacy Network (SWAN), and by signing on to letters with coalition partners to demonstrate unity on an issue and push for change. And lastly, they connect the community to our rivers by hosting and attending community events, as well as providing the MKE Urban Water Trail map and Swim Guide to encourage others to explore the river basin, too.
