Bring your Stuff to Swap!
Plastic-Free MKE’s next Stuff Swap will be held in partnership with the Sherman Park Community Association’s Earth Day in May event on Saturday, May 20th from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at Sherman Park! Bring some friends and things you no longer need to this freecycling event! Everyone is welcome to bring any items that no longer serve them to swap them for items they will actually use. We encourage gently used clothing, housewares, and school supplies - and don’t forget to bring your reusable bags for any new-to-you stuff that catches your eye, as single-use bags will not be provided. Items should be clean and in working condition. Let's minimize waste and maximize the life of our unwanted or unused stuff in a fun, creative, and sustainable way. Registration is encouraged but not required.
We ask that attendees refrain from bringing large items like furniture to the swap, as they are difficult to transport and we have limited space!

The Urban Ecology Center
The Urban Ecology Center stemmed from a grassroots neighborhood effort aimed at improving a previously neglected Riverside Park. In 2004, the Center had the opportunity to move out of the double-wide classroom trailer that they had been operating out of and open a new community education center. Since then, the UEC has added two locations, Washington Park and Menomonee Valley. The UEC serves Milwaukee as an Environmental Community Center that provides numerous educational programs, leads local research efforts, and offers spaces for community members to gather for various occasions - and of course is a tremendous partner in the work of Plastic-Free MKE!
