Next Stuff Swap April 8th!

Stuff Swap with Mount Mary University

Plastic-Free MKE hosts freecycling events called Stuff Swaps where you can bring gently used clothing and household goods and swap them with other people's items for free! There is no requirement to bring an item or take an item. The only thing we will not accept is furniture. At the end of the event, we bring the remaining items to a local donation location.

Our next Stuff Swap will be on April 8th from 12-4 pm in partnership with the Mount Mary University Fashion Department, Wisconsin Sea Grant, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). It will be inside the University in Helfaer Hall (2900 Menomonee River Parkway). For more details head to the Facebook Event link or register for the event below. Registration is not required, but registrants will receive reminders and updates! Don't need more stuff in your life or don't want to clean out that closet yet? Join us anyway for a special free performance of the interactive play Me and Debry at the start of the Swap, or consider volunteering as a Stuff Manager to help us sort and organize everything!

Take Action: Tell Coca-Cola to Bring Back Refill

Once upon a time, Coca-Cola set the standard for refillable glass bottles. But today, they’re known to be the top corporate plastic polluter in the world. In fact, Coca-Cola recently withdrew its pledge to switch 25% of its products to refillable packaging. They’re choosing to stick to single-use plastics over reuse and refill systems. Break Free From Plastic, and The Story of Stuff’s new video tells us how Coca-Cola has consistently broken its sustainability promises to its customers over the years. The two groups have organized a petition to tell Coca-Cola to recommit to their refillable packaging goals.
