Happy New Year From Plastic-Free MKE

Thank You For Your Support In 2021

Happy New Year and thank you to all of our amazing community members that have continued to support Plastic-Free MKE through the years.

Although 2021 was not without its challenges, Plastic-Free MKE was still able to make our fair share of positive strides forward. For example, we continued to grow our coalition and Lake Friendly Business program to over sixty members. We held eight public events both virtually and in-person, bringing in 139 attendees that were new to the Plastic-Free MKE movement. We also created a Plastics Education Toolkit, wrote our new mission, vision, and values statements, ran seven water refill stations, and much more! Doing this increased awareness of our movement and we have no doubt that the number of people involved with Plastic-Free MKE will continue to grow in the coming year.

While we continue to navigate the new challenges of a changing world, we strive to expand our reach, build relationships with underrepresented communities, and diversify our perspective and coalition. There are some very exciting and promising projects coming up in 2022. Plastic-Free MKE will continue to work toward creating a healthier Milwaukee, free from the harms of unnecessary plastics.

Thank you again for your continued support, we would not be here without you.

Have a happy, plastic-free new year!
