Plastic-Free MKE: A Year-in-Review
Plastic-Free MKE has had such a successful 2022, all thanks to you! Through our H2O Refill program, we have managed to prevent 2,320 single-use water bottles from being used and discarded at a total of 25 community events. Our volunteers have clocked in 260 hours, which has expanded our movement tremendously! Additionally, Plastic-Free MKE has hosted 5 successful webinars that have increased the public's overall awareness and sense of community. Plastic-Free MKE announced Sherman Park as our first official Lake Friendly Neighborhood, and we have since received immense support from the community. Our Lake Friendly Businesses have also continued to do their part in reducing single-use plastics all across the city of Milwaukee. Thank you, Transfer Pizzeria Café, for proudly broadcasting the Lake Friendly Business program on Spectrum News 1! Lastly, thanks to our partnership with the Green Schools Consortium of Milwaukee, we were able to host the first ever Lake Friendly Conference this year! We are excited for all that 2023 will bring to this movement - and thank you, once more, to our dedicated coalition members and volunteers for an impactful 2022.
Happy Holidays, PFMKE!
